Central heating and hot water are provided by an Intergas high efficiency boiler ('combiketel') on the top floor. The ground floor is fitted with underfloor central heating, so that there are no visible radiators. All other rooms except for the WCs (i.e. including the garage) have radiators.
A mechanical ventilation system with a centrally situated ventilator on the top floor provides ventilation for the kitchen, bathroom and WCs.
All windows are double glazed, and have ventilation grills, which can be closed, above them. At the front of the house the ventilation grills have extra sound insulation.
Due to the efficient insulation and the high windows in the South-facing living room, the house is warm in the winter (and the heating costs low), and cool in the Summer .
All windows are fitted with anti-burglary latches, and the doors have extra locks. There is no public access to the back of the property.
The house is wired for cable TV and radio, telephone and 10/100 Fast Ethernet (computer network), with outlets on all floors.
Being the last house of the block, number 25 has a double cavity wall (ankerloze spouwmuur) on one side, providing extra insulation, and its own (unshared) entrance staircase.
