To appreciate the ground floor WC you really have to sit there. It is a work of art the like of which you'll rarely come across. The whole room, including the floor and ceiling (i.e. everything except the toilet bowl and wash basin), have been painted by the Flemish artist Stef Lauwers as a sort of surrealistic miniature Panorama Mesdag. It is executed entirely in oil paints and then varnished, so that cleaning is not a problem. The only problem is that it's sometimes difficult to get guests out of the WC!
